Host: Ivana Dama | New Haven

Thanksgiving is that special time of the year when we take a moment to appreciate the blessings in our lives and cherish the bonds we share with our family, friends, and loved ones. However, not everyone has the privilege of being with their family on this occasion, especially students.

Ivana Dama, a graduate student at Yale University, took this as an opportunity to bring together friends who were away from their families for Thanksgiving. Victoria (Pig) joined her, and together, they decided to host a dinner gathering for their friends. When two pigs host a dinner gathering, is it called a “pigtastic feast”? 🙂

Their Thanksgiving celebration in 2023 turned out to be a memorable night, with a diverse group of friends gathered around the table, each represented by their animals:

  • Claudia, the Rabbit
  • Rafa, the Snake
  • Eva, the Chicken
  • Ana, the Horse
  • Ken, the Rat
  • Daedalus, the Dog
  • Ivana, the Pig
  • Victoria, also a Pig
  • Lester, another Rat
  • Claire, yet another Horse
