Maryam Razi (HORSE), based in Southern California, wears multiple hats as a visual designer, eyewear artisan, freelance curator, and part-time writer. She focuses on the crossroads where art, science, technology, and culture meet. With a solid design and research foundation, Maryam is pursuing a Master of Science in User Experience, adding to her existing advanced degree.



On the evening of June 2, 2022, under a sky filled with twinkling stars, Maryam Razi, who identifies with the Horse Zodiac, organized the first Hox Zodiac dinner event in Tehran. The culinary spotlight of the night was on Shahram Javanbakht, symbolizing the Tiger, who delighted the “human animals” with a fish dish elegantly presented on silky decor. Most guests, primarily born under the Rat sign, exchanged anecdotes exploring their animalistic attributes.

*The outer golden round garnish made of mashed potato and carrot:
-potato (800 gr) + carrot (150gr) + garlic (4 cloves) + butter (150 gr) + heavy cream (100 gr) + salt
[Place the carrot and potato and garlic in a large saucepan. Cover with water and bring to a boil (around 20 mins). Drain the vegetables, add butter and cream and mix. Season to taste.]

*Green silky béchamel sauce
-White flour (150 gr) + butter (100 gr) + milk ( 1 liter) + parsley (100 gr) + basil (100 gr)+ salt
[Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. When it’s bubbling, add the flour and whisk until it forms a golden paste. Add the hot milk, continuing to stir as the sauce thickens. Bring it to a boil and add salt and pepper. Lower the heat and continue stirring for 2 to 3 minutes more. Then, add the herbs to the sauce and mix.]

*The marinated fish fillets
-Garlic powder + onion powder + smoked paprika powder + salt + olive oil + lemon juice + pepper
[Mix the ingredients and cover the mixture with plastic wrap and marinate it in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Then, bake in the preheated oven until fish flakes easily with a fork.]

*Green garnish on the top of the fillet
*Feta cheese (200 gr) + garlic (3 cloves) + walnut (150 gr) + dill (100 gr) + red pepper
[Combine ingredients with a mixer]

*White polka dots on the top
Heavy cream (100 gr) + garlic (3 cloves) + salt + smoked paprika powder
[Combine ingredients with a mixer]
